Photo Booth at a Retirement Party

One of the earlier events we attended with the photo booth was a retirement party at the  North Foreland Golf Club in Broadstairs, Kent .

We had been told that the party was upstairs but that would be no problem with all the equipment as there was a lift. We loaded the car and arrived at the club to find the lift was broken! Arrrggghh!! We always think of erecting and dismantling the photo booth as a bit of a mini workout as it’s quite physical. Looks like we were in for a bit more working out as we lugged all the bags up the stairs and into the function room. It was a hot evening too. We got the booth all set up and opened for business.

It was a big party so there was loads of traffic in and out of the photo booth. There were even queues at various points throughout the evening. Most people came in three or four times and had great fun choosing their props, dressing up and posing for the camera.

We use a super camera – it’s a Canon EOS 700D, and it takes amazing quality photos. Now a good camera is no good if you pair it with a rubbish printer so it is very important to us that the prints we give to our ‘models’ are really clear and sharp. They also need to be instantly available so our guests have a souvenir to take home with them. Our printer is a dye-sublimation printer which enables us to print photo lab quality prints which are ready before they’ve taken their wigs, hats and glasses off.
